A Celebration of Their Own: The Palm Beaches Presents Its 2026 MICHELIN Guide Plaques

There is something different about celebrating an achievement together, in person, surrounded by the people who understand exactly what it took to get there. On Monday, August 3, Discover The Palm Beaches gathered the chefs and teams behind Palm Beach County’s 10 MICHELIN-recognized restaurants at Hilton West Palm Beach for the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Restaurant Plaques Presentation.

The event was intimate and thoughtfully arranged, beginning with a reception at Moody Tongue Sushi. Guests enjoyed nigiri and snacks alongside samples of the restaurant’s custom beer offerings.

At 6:30 p.m., we moved into the hotel’s press room for the official presentation, where a charcuterie display and additional passed bites awaited. Erika Constantine, senior vice president of marketing for Discover The Palm Beaches, welcomed the group. Milton Segarra, president and CEO of Discover The Palm Beaches, then placed the evening in a much larger context. This recognition is not simply about prestige or a plaque displayed on a restaurant wall. Palm Beach County’s culinary industry represents a significant part of its visitor economy. Segarra cited $2.1 billion connected to visitors, with $1.3 billion specifically attributed to fine dining.

Of that $2.1 billion, $1.3 billion was specifically in fine dining. So we’re in the presence of a significant economic contribution. The chefs and restaurant teams being honored are helping drive tourism, attract business and shape how visitors experience The Palm Beaches. Segarra described them as a group of talented restaurateurs, entrepreneurs and teams who represent the destination’s brand, principles and values. He also emphasized that their contributions benefit those of us who live here, giving residents exceptional places to gather and dine.

Bryan Griffin, president and CEO of VISIT FLORIDA, followed with remarks about Florida’s expanding presence as a food destination. Then came the reason everyone had gathered: presenting the plaques.

The presentation felt especially meaningful this year. As I covered during the 2026 MICHELIN Guide Florida reveal, Florida’s first statewide selection was announced through a digital ceremony rather than the traditional gathering of chefs, restaurateurs and industry professionals. That left each destination to decide whether, and how, it would create an in-person moment for its restaurants. Miami incorporated its plaque presentations into a larger State of the Industry Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau event at the Biltmore Hotel.

A plaque may ultimately end up displayed on a restaurant wall, but the moment surrounding it also matters. These teams deserved the opportunity to hear their names called, step forward and be applauded by their peers. More than anything, it was heartwarming to experience the camaraderie in the room. The Palm Beaches’ restaurant community showed up for one another, celebrating every distinction with genuine enthusiasm. There were hugs, cheers, photos and plenty of shared pride.

Yes, MICHELIN Guide recognition shines a brighter light on each individual restaurant. But gathered together, these 10 restaurants told a much larger story about the culinary talent continuing to shape The Palm Beaches. They represent local creativity and entrepreneurship. They strengthen the destination’s identity, attract visitors and significantly contribute to the local economy.

The digital reveal announced their achievements. This intimate gathering finally gave everyone the chance to celebrate their culinary, economic and community impact together.
